Education First is a conference tour organized by the talented people behind THREAD!Fest and Sonic Boom. In an effort to spread awareness regarding clothing line management, branding, marketing, and good design, top independent clothing brands are embarking on a conference tour “designed to inform and designed to inspire.”
The first leg of the conference tour happens this Friday, November 16, at the University of San Carlos-Technological Center. You might want to sit in since admission is free. And also because of the following:
1. Inspiration
Education First aims to spread the message that it is possible to make a living doing what you love to do and to surround yourself with good and long-lasting design. Speakers at the event are young artists and professionals whose stories can motivate anyone to grab the world by the lapels and chase after what one wants. Whether what you want is managing your own business someday or being part of the design and/or art industry, the conference will leave you enlightened.
2. Information
From this conference, spectators can expect to learn the basics of running a clothing line, harnessing the power of social media in business, making a mark via a good logo and other marketing methods, personal branding, and more.
3. Artist Experience
Education First is a chance to interact with popular artists who run some of the top clothing lines in the city. These include Chad Manzo (SCARS), Uzi Emperado (Black Bile), Nicolo Nimor (Nick Automatic), Sheldon Elumbaring (Joints and Cookies), Franz Villanueva (Product of Uranus), Doyle See, (Killapinas), and Jude Crisostomo (Strawberry). Other speakers are also experts in their fields. These include Niche Dumlao and Kaloy Uypuanco.
